Security Council Secretaries of SCO member states to convene in Tashkent
On August 19, Tashkent will host the 17th meeting of the Security Council Secretaries of SCO member states.
The event is held within the framework of Uzbekistan’s chairmanship in the SCO and is a preparatory stage for the SCO Summit to be held in Samarkand.
Secretaries of the Security Councils of SCO member and observer states, as well as representatives of the SCO MATT secretariat and executive committee, will participate in the meeting.
During the meeting, issues of ensuring international and regional security, combating terrorism, extremism, illegal circulation of weapons and drugs, and ensuring information security will be discussed.
Bilateral talks with heads of delegations of partner countries are also planned as part of the event.
The meetings of the Security Council Secretaries of SCO member states have been held since 2004 and are a coordinating and consultative mechanism of multilateral cooperation.
