School year in Samarkand may kick off on September 20 due to SCO summit
Currently, the Ministry of Public Education (MPE) is considering several options. According to them, until September 20, classes will be held online or will be rescheduled.
The next summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization will be held in Samarkand on September 15-16 this year. In this regard, classes in all secondary schools in Samarkand can begin on September 20.
As the MPE press secretary, Laylo Rustamova, told Kun.uz, the regional department of public education sent a letter to the ministry regarding the approval of the start of academic year in schools in the city of Samarkand. The MPE is currently considering several options.
According to them, classes in Samarkand schools can be held online until September 20. In the second option, after the start of school year, classes in schools will be held on September 5-10. At the same time, classes will be postponed in the summit week, and then resumed from September 19 or 20.
Earlier, it became known that classes in universities of Samarkand will begin from the end of September.
