Uzbekistan paying 2 cents for each kilowatt-hour of electricity imported from Tajikistan
In January-July of this year, Tajikistan exported more than $64.5 million worth of electricity.
Afghanistan is the main importer of Tajikistan’s electricity, and it is delivered to Uzbekistan in a smaller volume as well, Asia-Plus reports.
According to the signed agreements, Afghanistan pays Tajikistan 4.67 cents per kilowatt-hour of electricity, and Uzbekistan pays 2 cents.
In return for the low tariff, Tajikistan receives Uzbekistan’s natural gas at a reduced price.
