It was reported that the passengers had been flown to London and their checked luggage had been flown somewhere else. According to Uzbekistan Airways, this was caused by “limited commercial loading” of the Airbus A320neo aircraft. Reportedly, the cargo is now at the Tashkent airport and will be delivered to the address indicated by the passengers.
On August 28, passengers’ baggage was not delivered to their destination on flight HY-201 en route Tashkent-London.
After the news spread on social networks, the company explained that it was caused by the “limited commercial loading” of the Airbus A320neo aircraft.
“The total amount of cargo not loaded on board is 119 seats, which means that it was in the amount of 2,210 kg. At the moment, the luggage of passengers of flight HY-201 is located at Tashkent International Airport named after Islam Karimov and will be delivered to London by flight HY-201 on August 30,” the official report reads.
It was added that the luggage will be delivered to all passengers free of charge by the delivery service at the specified address.
The company apologizes for the inconvenience.
At the same time, the air carrier did not officially comment on rumors that the luggage of passengers was flown to another country. In addition, the claim that the flight was delayed by 2 hours was also left unanswered.
