Mirziyoyev, Japarov exchange views on "China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan" railway, discuss construction of Qambarota-1 HPP
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev held talks in Samarkand with the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov, who is in Uzbekistan on a working visit to participate in the SCO summit.
According to the presidential press service, the head of Kyrgyzstan thanked the leader of Uzbekistan for his warm hospitality.
The presidents noted with pleasure that fruitful bilateral cooperation based on the principles of strategic partnership is developing at a positive pace. Mutual trade is growing rapidly, its volume has increased by 30% since the beginning of the year.
Joint cooperation projects are being implemented in the fields of industry, energy, agriculture, water management, and transport. Interregional and cultural-humanitarian exchanges are expanding.
Particular attention was paid to the importance of starting the construction of the "China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan" railway and Qambarota-1 hydroelectric power station, which will serve the development of the entire Central Asian region.
The parties exchanged opinions on the agenda of future high-level dialogues and topical issues of regional and international importance.
