Uzbekistan continues close ties in C5+1 format to achieve practical results 

On September 22, in New York, on the sidelines of the 77th UNGA session, a ministerial meeting of the countries of Central Asia and the United States of America was held in the C5+1 format.

During the event, the heads and representatives of the foreign ministries of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and the United States of America discussed topical issues of cooperation in mutually beneficial areas.

An exchange of views took place on ways to expand trade-investment cooperation in the C5+1 format in order to ensure sustainable economic development of Central Asia. 

In his speech, the head of the delegation of Uzbekistan, Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Norov noted the demand for C5+1 and the significant progress made to improve the effectiveness of cooperation in this format.

The initiatives of the Uzbek side within the framework of C5+1 were announced, including the introduction of international standards in the field of agriculture and the textile industry in the countries of Central Asia, the development of alternative transport routes, the promotion of the “green agenda”, and ensuring food security.

The parties reached an agreement to continue close ties at high and expert levels in the C5+1 format, as well as to take concrete measures aimed at achieving practical results.
