Uzbekistan strengthens control over transportation of goods at state border
A government decree has been adopted on introducing amendments and additions to the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers “On further improvement of the procedure for organizing border, customs, sanitary-quarantine, phytosanitary control and veterinary supervision at checkpoints across the state border of the Republic of Uzbekistan.”
The document provides for the clarification of some concepts and the consolidation of new terms, Norma reports.
Thus, the term “border inspection” is being introduced – this is a set of measures carried out by the border troops of the State Security Service in order to detect persons hiding in vehicles and goods hidden in them, the transportation of which across the state border is prohibited.
Also, from now on, the inspection of vehicles and cargo when crossing the state border will be carried out by joint orders of customs authorities and border services.
