Uzbekistan takes lead in CIS in terms of birth rate

In 2021, Uzbekistan registered 905,200 births, the State Statistics Committee said.

According to the analysis, the birth rate per 1,000 permanent residents in the CIS countries in 2021 was:

— 25.9 in Uzbekistan
— 23.5 in Kazakhstan
— 22.4 in the Kyrgyz Republic 
— 12.4 in Armenia 
— 11.2 in Azerbaijan 
— 11.2 in Moldova 
— 9.6 in Russia
— 7.3 in Ukraine
