Bill: An average of 300,000 soums will be added to the pensions of 75,000 people with disabilities in 2023
The Senate Committee on Women and Gender Equality discussed the bill “On amendments and additions to the Law “On the state pension provision of citizens” aimed at improving the procedure of pension allocation”.
Starting from January 1, 2023, the appointed pension will be recalculated and added to the pension amount once every 2 years, based on at least 1 year of work experience and salary after the appointment of a pension.
If the bill is adopted, in 2023, an average of 300,000 soums will be added to the pensions of 75,000 persons with disabilities (who have worked in 1994-2022) and those who will continue to work (43,000 people are officially employed) will have their pension recalculated once every 2 years (based on length of service and monthly salary).
According to the law, it is planned to determine the procedure for determining the period during which a stepparent raised a deceased stepchild, as well as the procedure for paying premiums to the pensions of persons who have rendered special service to Uzbekistan.
Adoption of the law serves to prevent various approaches arising in practice, to eliminate situations that cause corruption factors, to increase the income of persons with disabilities based on the principle of social justice.
