Draft law on conflict of interest adopted
At a plenary session of the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis, deputies discussed the draft law “On conflict of interest”.
According to a Kun.uz correspondent, the draft law clarifies the concept of “conflict of interest”, determines between whom and when this situation may arise.
The rights and obligations of employees of a state organization, their relatives and related persons in the field of preventing conflicts of interest are determined.
In addition, it is envisaged to maintain a register of situations of conflict of interest identified in a state organization, the legal consequences of violation of requirements related to a conflict of interest.
At the meeting, deputies raised a number of questions on the document, made reasonable proposals for further improvement and finalization of the bill. In their opinion, adoption of the draft law will serve to introduce effective mechanisms for preventing, detecting and regulating conflicts of interest in state organizations.
During the discussions, deputies voiced objections regarding the title of the bill and some norms of the document. Consequently, the draft law was adopted by deputies.
