Debt of consumers for drinking water reaches 1.3 trillion soums
A third of all debt falls on consumers living in the city of Tashkent and the Tashkent region.
Currently, the debt of consumers for drinking water supply services amount to 1.3 trillion soums, said Akmal Murodov, spokesperson for JSC Uzsuvtaminot, at a briefing today.
Of this, the debt of individuals is 1.1 trillion soums, legal entities – 200 billion soums.
The highest levels of debt are observed in the city of Tashkent (256 billion soums), Tashkent region (150 billion soums) and Andijan (125 billion soums).
In addition, Uzsuvtaminot noted that another problem, along with consumer debt, is an illegal connection to drinking water supply and sewerage systems.
In particular, since the beginning of the year, 1,515 facts of illegal connection to drinking water supply systems have been identified, of which 572 were in Tashkent, 317 – in Khorezm and 306 – in Samarkand regions. The total damage amounted to almost 40 billion soums.
