Emperor of Japan awards Deputy PM Aziz Abdukhakimov with an order of highest degree
On November 9, 2022, the ceremony of awarding the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Tourism and Cultural Heritage of the Republic of Uzbekistan Aziz Abdukhakimov with the “Grand Cordon of the Order of the Rising Sun” was held at the Imperial Palace in Tokyo.
In accordance with the tradition, the order was presented by the Emperor of Japan, Naruhito, in the presence of Prime Minister Fumio Kishida.
The awarding of the “Grand Cordon of the Order of the Rising Sun” confirms the recognition of many years of contribution to strengthening friendly relations between Japan and Uzbekistan.
This order is the oldest in Japan and the highest degree (out of 6 degrees) of the “Order of the Rising Sun”, which has been awarded since 1875.
