Uzbekistan ranked 69th in UN E-Government Development Index
Compared to last year, our country has risen in the ranking by 18 positions.
This information was announced at a forum dedicated to cooperation between Uzbekistan and Korea in the field of e-government and digital economy, held at INHA University in Tashkent.
Deputy Minister of ICT Development Jamshid Egamberdiyev noted that according to the UN Development Index “Electronic Government”, Uzbekistan in 2022 occupied the 69th place among 193 countries and rose by 18 positions compared to 2020.
The conference noted the positive dynamics of Uzbek-Korean relations and approved the further intensification of cooperation in a number of promising areas. In particular, taking into account the best practices of the Republic of Korea, it is planned to strengthen partnership in the direction of development and effective management of technology parks and innovation centers.
Also, taking into account that human capital is an important factor in the development of the IT industry, cooperation in the field of education in the field of information technology between the specialized universities of Uzbekistan and Korea will be further expanded.
During the event, issues of developing cooperation in the field of artificial intelligence were discussed, first of all, the introduction of best practices and the identification of points of joint action.
Particular attention was paid to the need to increase the number of exchange programs and training courses in the areas of e-government, digital economy and artificial intelligence.
