Schools across Uzbekistan to start providing free meals to children
2.3 trillion soums will be allocated from the budget for this purpose.
From the next academic year, schools across the country will start providing free meals to children, Shavkat Mirziyoyev said during his address to the parliament.
“Since the beginning of the year, 285,000 primary school students have been provided with free meals in Karakalpakstan and Khorezm. We have gained enough experience in this area.
Now, from the next academic year, this practice will be introduced in the schools of other regions and the city of Tashkent, and 2.3 trillion soums will be allocated for this purpose,” Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.
It is noted that next year 70 new schools will be built and 460 will be expanded. With the participation of private investments, 100 school building projects will be launched, and their number will be increased to a thousand in the next five years.
