President Shavkat Mirziyoyev drew attention to the situation with public transport in his address to the parliament. It was announced that 2,000 buses will be brought to the republic before the Nowruz holiday.
“The public transport system will change for the better. 1,000 modern buses will be purchased for the city of Tashkent, and 7 underground metro stations will be launched. Thanks to these reforms, more than 500,000 residents and guests of the capital will have improved services daily.
In order to improve the quality of passenger transportation in the regions, another 1,000 buses will be put into service. This will facilitate the movement of about 1 million residents, who are facing difficulties due to lack of public transport,” said the president.
