Mass mortality among children recorded in Samarkand
The Agency for Development of Pharmaceutical Industry is conducting an examination of Dok-1 Maks. The sale of the drug is temporarily suspended.
Earlier, a letter was circulated on the network by the head of the multidisciplinary children’s medical center of the Samarkand region M.K. Azizova, which states that recently there has been an outbreak of respiratory viral diseases among children. With this disease, patients are often prescribed the drug Dok-1 Maks.
According to the manager, after taking this drug, many children experience side effects, most often kidney damage and kidney failure.
It is noted that in the past two months, 21 patients came to the center with side effects after taking this medication.
“In 17 of them, the disease was extremely severe, they even had to undergo several sessions of hemodialysis. 15 people died,” the letter says.
The Agency for Development of Pharmaceutical Industry took control of the situation. A special group was formed to study the condition of patients and determine the causes.
“Dok-1 Maks drug of the Indian company Marion Biotech Pvt., distributed in the pharmacies of Samarkand, is undergoing an examination in the prescribed manner. After the laboratory analysis is completed, its results will be announced.
The sale of this drug in Uzbekistan has been temporarily suspended since December 22, 2022.
