61-year-old Russian citizen dies in mountains near Tashkent
The incident occurred in the Bostanlyk district, Tashkent region.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, on January 4, at about 13:30, on the slopes of Mount Chimgan, Bostanlyk district, a 61-year-old citizen of the Russian Federation, despite warnings about the danger of avalanches, was skiing in a prohibited area.
As a result, falling under snowdrifts, he died on the spot.
Rescuers of the Chimgan Rescue Team of the Specialized Multidisciplinary Department of the Specialized Emergency Situations of the Bostanlyk district immediately arrived at the scene.
During the search work, the skier’s body was removed from under the snowdrifts.
