Uzbekistan begins importing electricity from Tajikistan
Since January 18 of this year, 9 districts of Surkhandarya region have been supplied with electricity through Tajikistan.
During the abnormally cold period, additional electricity supply from Tajikistan was launched in the Surkhandarya region, the information service of the Surkhandarya regional branch of “Regional Electric Networks” reported.
Reportedly, on January 18 of this year, 70% of the region’s Shurchi, Altinsay, Kumkurgan, Jarkurgan districts, 90% of Bandikhan, Kizirik, Sherabad districts, and all the consumers in Baysun, Sariasiya, Uzun, Denau districts received 220kV L-electricity from the Regar-500 substation of Tajikistan. Regar-Zarchop and L-Regar-Sherabad are supplied with electricity through power transmission networks.
The load-carrying capacity of the wire in each of the 220kV L-Regar-Zarchop and L-Regar-Sherabad power transmission lines from Tajikistan’s Regar-500 substation is designed for 250 MW. When any of the L-Regar-Zarchop and L-Regar-Sherabad power transmission lines are shut down in an emergency, in order to preserve the energy system, based on the order of the dispatchers of the Southern Regional Dispatch Office in Shurchi, Altinsay, Kumkurgan, Jarkurgan, Bandikhan, Kizirik, Sherabad, Baysun, Sariasiya, Uzun, Denau districts and the dispatcher of the Surkhandarya regional dispatch department, it is required to limit 70-80 MW per hour from 6-10 kV feeders in accordance with the limitation schedule approved by the districts.
