Justice Ministry’s employee arrested on suspicion of slandering his colleague
Khusan Ravshanov, the former chief adviser of the Public Relations Department of the Justice Ministry, was imprisoned 2 months ago. According to a Kun.uz source, he is suspected of slandering the head of the Tashkent regional justice department by opening Facebook account under a different name.

40-year-old Khusan Ravshanov was arrested on February 3 and a preventive measure in the form of detention was applied against him.
According to the preliminary investigation documents at the disposal of Kun.uz, the owner of the Facebook account “Sanjar Karimov” published an article on his page on April 18, 2022. In the article, Abdumutalib Dadajonov, who was head of the Andijan regional justice department from January 2019 to April 2022, and who is currently working as the head of the Tashkent regional justice department, was accused of witnessing bribery.
On May 3, 2022, the owner of the account named “Sanjar Karimov” accused Abdumutalib Dadajonov of a serious crime on Facebook, that is, repeated bribery. The investigation considers these accusations to be defamation.
During the investigation, it was found that the computer used by Khusan Ravshanov, the chief adviser of the Public Relations Department of the Justice Ministry, contained files related to the above cases. On February 3, Ravshanov was involved in the investigation as a suspect of having committed the crime specified in Paragraph “a”, Article 139-3 (slander) of the Criminal Code. He was detained in accordance with Article 227 of the Criminal Procedural Code.
The investigation considers Khusan Ravshanov to be the owner of the account named “Sanjar Karimov”. His actions were further qualified by Paragraph “g”, Article 237-2 (false reporting) of the Criminal Code. For information, individuals, who are found guilty under this paragraph, may be sentenced to imprisonment for 5 to 8 years.
According to the documents available in Kun.uz, the case of Khusan Ravshanov is not related to the case of the head of Khorezm regional justice department or Kompromat.uzb.
On April 4, the Ministry of Justice released the following brief information on the case:
“It has been determined that the former employee Kh.R. has been spreading defamatory information on social networks, the materials have been sent to the relevant law enforcement agencies, and investigations are being conducted against him”.
