Sergei Lavrov arrives in Uzbekistan
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov arrived in Samarkand. He was welcomed at the airport by the acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov.

On April 13, Lavrov will take part in the fourth ministerial conference of Afghanistan's neighboring countries.
On Friday, he will attend the CIS Council of Foreign Ministers. The event will gather together delegations from Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, Russia, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan, as well as the CIS executive committee.
The parties are expected to exchange views on topical issues on the international agenda and discuss interaction within the framework of the CIS. They will also consider the implementation of joint programs and draft documents submitted by the council of heads of state of the Commonwealth.
On the same day, the sixth meeting of the foreign ministers of Central Asian countries and Russia will be held in Samarkand.
