Uzbekistan to celebrate Eid al-Fitr on April 21

The Muslim Board of Uzbekistan has announced that this year Ramadan Eid will fall on Friday, April 21.

According to the information received by the Working Group of the Muslim Board to determine the month of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr from the Institute of Astronomy under the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan, the new moon phase (crescent) of the month of Shawwal in 1444 Hijri will start on Thursday, April 20.

The Ulama Council of the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan announced that the Eid of Ramadan will fall on Friday, April 21, based on the teachings of Islam and this astronomical data.

Today, employees can leave one hour earlier than the usual working day. According to Article 121 of the Labor Code, on the eve of holidays, the daily work (shift) period is reduced by at least one hour for all employees.

During the day, the president's decision "On the celebration of Ramadan Eid" is expected to be announced. It also specifies the days of holiday.
