According to the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan, the first day of the sacred holiday will fall on Wednesday, May 27, 2026. Under Article 208 of the Labor Code, this day is recognized as an official non-working public holiday.

To allow citizens to fully observe the festivities and enjoy extended rest, the decree builds upon an earlier presidential decree from December 24, 2025, which managed the transfer of rest days and established additional time off for official celebrations throughout 2026.

As a result, employees on both five-day and six-day workweeks will benefit from consecutive days off. For all workers, regardless of their employment structure, Thursday, May 28 and Friday, May 29 have been designated as additional non-working days. Those operating under a six-day workweek will also receive Saturday, May 30 as an extra day off, followed by the standard Sunday rest day on May 31.

The full week schedule leading into the holiday weekend will run as follows:

Monday, May 25 – Regular workday

Tuesday, May 26 – Regular workday

Wednesday, May 27 – Eid al-Adha holiday

Thursday, May 28 – Additional non-working day for all employees

Friday, May 29 – Additional non-working day for all employees

Saturday, May 30 – Additional day off for six-day workweek employees

Sunday, May 31 – Regular rest day for all employees

Monday, June 1 – Return to regular work schedule

The Council of Ministers of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, along with regional and Tashkent city administrations, have been tasked with overseeing the holiday logistics. Working alongside the Committee for Religious Affairs, the Association of Neighborhoods of Uzbekistan, the National Agency for Social Protection, and other partner organizations, local authorities will organize regional events to ensure the celebrations are conducted in a high-spirited atmosphere that respects national values and traditional customs.
