This was stated by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev during his speech at the second Tashkent International Investment Forum.
“Even more solid legal foundations are needed for consistent continuation of transformations and free development of business in the country. As is known, a nationwide referendum on the updated Constitution will be held in Uzbekistan in the coming days. First of all, it consolidates the position that Uzbekistan is a sovereign, democratic, legal, social and secular state,” he said.
The head of state stressed that “the priority of human rights and freedoms has been placed at the forefront of all our transformations”.
Also, according to the Constitution, for the first time, the state assumes obligations to ensure a favorable investment and business climate, the inviolability of property, the development of market relations, the creation of conditions for fair competition, and the independence of the judiciary.
“The new Constitution will undoubtedly serve as the basis for the consistent continuation of the initiated reforms and, most importantly, will make them irreversible,” the President concluded.
