Saidov and Lavrov discuss the situation in Ukraine
On May 22, the Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov, who paid a working visit to Moscow, held talks with his Russian counterpart, FM Sergei Lavrov.
According to the press service of the Russian Foreign Ministry, the parties discussed in detail the whole range of issues related to the further strengthening of the strategic partnership, alliance and multifaceted bilateral cooperation between Russia and Uzbekistan.
The sides also exchanged views on the schedule of upcoming interstate contacts at the highest level.
“When discussing issues of regional and international security, Lavrov outlined Russian assessments of the current situation in Ukraine and the progress of the special military operation,” the report says.
In addition, the situation in Afghanistan and additional measures to strengthen stability and security in the region were considered in detail.
