Electricians cause damage worth 93 million soums to object of cultural heritage in Kashkadarya
The archaeological site “Chillamazortepa” in Yakkabog district was excavated by executives of the electricity supply company for the purpose of installing a transformer.
The Prosecutor General’s Office reported that a cultural heritage site in Kashkadarya region was damaged.
It was reported that at the event held in Yakkabog district, executives of the district electricity supply enterprise registered as a cultural heritage object and seriously damaged the archaeological site “Chillamazortepa”, which is under state protection. This archaeological object belongs to VI-XII centuries.
Electricians illegally excavated a 3.75 m3 part of the monument for the purpose of installing a transformer point, causing damage of 93 million soums to the cultural heritage object.
On the above fact, a criminal case has been initiated against officials of the electricity supply of Yakkabog district, and the preliminary investigation is being conducted.
