Aboveground subway or a tram line to be built from Tashkent to New Tashkent
At a meeting with voters of Tashkent, Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced his plans to ensure ecological stability in the capital, to turn it into one of the metropolises with clean air and safety.

According to the candidate, by 2030:
• the amount of harmful gases released into the air will be reduced by 150,000 tons or 50%;
• an additional 1,200 electric buses will be brought and their share in public transport will be increased to 50%;
• the rest of the buses will be switched to natural gas fuel with 3 times less harmful emissions, that is, there will not be a single bus running on diesel fuel.
The principle of “safe and smooth road” will also be introduced due to the digitization of traffic management. In order to reduce traffic on the basis of advanced foreign experience:
• “smart intersection” and “smart traffic light” control system will be implemented at all intersections (605) (now – 64);
• multi-storey parking lots will be organized at 5 entrances to the city and around 6 metro stations with high passenger traffic;
• 12 overpasses will be built on streets with high traffic, and modern parking meters with 3,000 spaces will be installed along the roads.
“In order to make the population more comfortable, a 15-kilometer long aboveground subway or tram line with a capacity of 115,000 passengers will be built from the Dustlik metro station to New Tashkent,” the candidate said.
