Major fire breaks out in a market in Khiva
On July 24, a fire broke out in the clothing market of Khiva in the Khorezm region. Warehouses and grocery stores burned down on the spot, the cause of the fire has not yet been established.
According to MES the press service, at 17:42, the regional emergency department received a message about a fire in clothing and food stores on the territory of the Khiva clothing market, which is located on Elobod Street, Sangar mahalla.
12 fire and rescue crews arrived at the scene at 17:50. 9 units of water equipment also worked at the place of incident.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations also clarified that the fire was extinguished at 20:10. As a result of a fire on an area of about 1,000 square meters, containers and shopping arcades of a light structure were damaged.
There were no reports of burns or deaths of civilians as a result of the fire. The cause of the fire and the amount of material damage are currently being established.
