100 new buses to be delivered to Khorezm by year end
All of them will be purchased from a Chinese company to serve urban routes.
It is planned to deliver 100 new buses to the Khorezm region by the end of the year, the press service of the Ministry of Transport reports.
The corresponding agreement was reached by Bunyodyobus Holding, which is engaged in passenger transportation in the Khorezm region, and the Chinese Zhongtong Bus Holding.
The contract was signed during a visit to China by an Uzbek delegation led by the head of the transport department of Khorezm region.
The delegation also got acquainted with the activities of the Chinese plant, the conditions for the delivery of purchased buses, as well as the service of vehicles.
In February, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev approved measures to reorganize the public transport system in Uzbekistan. Thus, the resolution refers to the purchase of 2,000 buses from China: half of them will be used in the regions, and the other part - in Tashkent.
The purchase of all buses will be 85% covered by loans for up to 10 years from funds provided by international organizations under state guarantees. The rest will be paid in the capital at the expense of the NBU loan, in the regions - advance payments from carriers.
