School principal fined for attracting teachers into forced labor
The school principal in the Yashnabad district involved teachers in landscaping and beautification works. He was imposed a fine which could range from 33 million to 49.5 million soums.

Social networks circulated reports that the director of one of the capital’s schools involved teachers in forced labor. The Ministry of Employment and Poverty Reduction commented on the case.
It turned out that the incident occurred at school No. 149, located in the Yashnabad district. The school principal involved teachers in landscaping and beautification works, thereby violating Article 5, 25 of the Labor Code of Uzbekistan and the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers “On additional measures to eradicate forced labor”.
In accordance with Part 2, Article 51 of the Administrative Responsibility Code (Administrative forced labor in any form, committed against a teacher of an educational organization), the director was imposed a fine (from 100 to 150 BCUs), which could range from 33 million to 49.5 million soums.
