Draft law: Citizens will assume liability for bank card theft
The legislation of Uzbekistan establishes administrative and criminal liability measures for cases of theft of money from a bank card, the deputy of the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis, Zuhra Shodiyeva, reported.

"The lack of accountability for cases such as theft of money from a bank account or card creates conditions for the repetition of such acts. In addition, the scope of consumers is expanding due to the fact that modern types of special means intended for secret collection of information freely enter our country, their trade is accelerating and they are widely promoted through social networks. The fact that the legal procedure for using these special tools is not established creates conditions for the illegal collection of secret information by malicious persons and their use for criminal purposes," the MP said.
The deputy did not clarify what the special means are.
It is noted that a draft law on the introduction of additions and amendments to the Criminal and Criminal Procedural Codes and the Administrative Responsibility Code will be developed, and administrative and criminal liability measures related to the above cases will be determined.
It is said that the adoption of this draft law will create a legal basis for exposing crimes committed with the help of information technologies.
In addition, liability may be imposed for violation of legislation in the field of crypto-assets circulation and illegal mining.
