Biotechnology cluster to be created in Tashkent Pharma Park
A roadmap has been adopted to accelerate the implementation of pharmaceutical projects by the end of 2025.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree on the development of the pharmaceutical industry in Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Justice reported.
The document approves a roadmap of measures to stimulate the sector and accelerate the implementation of investment projects until the end of 2025. A plan to expand the activities of the Tashkent Pharma Park cluster is also outlined.
It was ordered to create a special biotechnological cluster on the territory of the industrial park. 60 hectares of land are allocated for these needs.
Every year, before December 1, based on requests from medical institutions, a forecast for the required volume of pharmaceutical products for the next year will be formed. The list will be published on the Internet.
Starting from March 1, the “one lot – one product” system will be used for government procurement of medicines and medical goods. From 2025, it is planned to gradually transfer medical institutions to centralized procurement of pharmaceutical products.
By the end of 2024, warehouses of district and city medical organizations have been instructed to implement GSP requirements for storage practices. To deliver thermolabile (decomposes at high temperatures) drugs, special vehicles will be purchased.
