“There are more men in Uzbekistan than women” – Statistics Agency
According to the Statistics Agency, the permanent population of Uzbekistan as of January 1, 2024, was about 36.8 million people.

Of the total population, 18,525,011 are men and 18,274,745 are women, the agency said.
The number of men in the permanent population is 250,266 more than the number of women.
The number of permanent residents by region:
- Karakalpakstan R. - 2,002,700 people
- Andijan region - 3,394,400 people
- Bukhara region - 2,044,000 people
- Jizzakh region - 1,507,400 people
- Kashkadarya region - 3,560,600 people
- Navoi region - 1,075,300 people
- Namangan region - 3,066,100 people
- Samarkand region - 4,208,500 people
- Surkhandarya region - 2,877,100 people
- Syrdarya region - 914,000 people
- Tashkent region - 3,051,800 people
- Fergana region - 4,061,500 people
- Khorezm region - 1,995,600 people
- Tashkent city - 3,040,800 people
