Statistics Committee reveals average age breakdown across Uzbekistan’s regions
The average age of Uzbekistan's population stood at 29.5 years as of January 1, 2026, according to the National Statistics Committee.
Data released by the committee reveals notable demographic variances across the country's regions. Tashkent registered the highest average age at 32.7 years. The capital is followed by Bukhara region at 31.1 years, Toshkent region at 31 years, Navoi region at 30.1 years, and Fergana region at 30 years.
The Republic of Karakalpakstan closely mirrors the broader national demographic, with an average population age of 29.8 years. Meanwhile, the average age in both Andijan and Khorezm regions sits exactly at the national baseline of 29.5 years, while Namangan region follows closely at 29 years.
Conversely, several regions recorded averages below the national figure. Syrdarya region registered an average age of 28.7 years, followed by Samarkand at 28.5 years, Jizzakh at 28.4 years, and Kashkadarya at 27.7 years.
Surkhandarya region retains its status as the area with the youngest demographic in the country, recording the lowest average age at 27.4 years.
