The Qatari holding Power International may build an educational and entertainment center near Tashkent.
On January 28, at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Doha, the leadership of the Qatari Power International Holding and the local company SilkRoadInvest Group discussed the implementation of a business plan for an investment project in the Tashkent region.
The cost of the educational and entertainment center, implemented on an area of 180 hectares in the capital region, will be $300 million.
As a result of the negotiations, the parties signed a memorandum and agreed on a visit by representatives of the Qatari holding in the second half of February to inspect the project site and discuss the conditions for its implementation.
Last November, Power International Holding was going to open an office in Uzbekistan. As it was reported then, the company’s plans include the construction of roads, a hospital complex, hotels in Bukhara, Samarkand and Tashkent, as well as the implementation of projects in the field of “green” energy and the launch of ammonia and urea production in the Navoi region.
Now the Qatari holding is building a modern livestock cluster near Jizzakh. In addition, in January, Power International Holding planned the construction of a multi-network hospital with 300 beds on a PPP basis in Tashkent.
