Samarkand resident detained for illegally transporting gold worth 368 million UZS
A man carrying two pieces of pure gold was apprehended en route to Tashkent.
During a joint operation conducted by the Bulungur District Department of the Prosecutor General's Office, the Navoi Regional Directorate of the State Security Service, and law enforcement agencies, an attempt to illegally transfer monetary assets was thwarted.
At the "Yukori Nukta" checkpoint, a Cobalt vehicle traveling from Samarkand to Tashkent was stopped. The passenger, R.T., was found in possession of two pieces of pure gold weighing a total of 463.94 grams, which he intended to bring into Tashkent. The value of the gold is estimated at 368 million sums.
A criminal case has been initiated under Article 177 of the Criminal Code (Illegal acquisition or sale of monetary assets) against the man. Currently, investigative actions are underway.
