Number of flights between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan to increase
There are 37 flights a week between the two countries. It is planned to further increase their number and expand the geography of flights.

The Minister of Transport of Uzbekistan, Ilkhom Makhkamov, met with the Minister of Transport of Kazakhstan, Marat Karabaev. At the meeting, the parties discussed the main areas of cooperation, issues of the development of international transport corridors, railway and road transport, and the implementation of joint projects in the field of construction of transport infrastructure.
It is noted that construction of a new railway line continues between Darbaza and Maktaaral. It is expected that the implementation of the project will increase the throughput capacity between the two countries by another 10 million tons.
In addition, the volume of export-import transportation by road increased by 6% and amounted to 1.8 million tons.
There are 37 flights per week between the cities of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. During the negotiations, an agreement was reached to further increase the number of flights and expand the geography of flights, and the parties also agreed to increase the number of permitted flights more than twice: on the routes Astana – Tashkent from 12 to 36, Almaty – Tashkent – from 20 to 36, on other routes – up to 4 flights per week.
The Kazakh side expressed its readiness to assist Uzbekistan in the construction of the Termez – Mazar-i-Sharif – Kabul – Peshawar railway.
Following the meeting, the parties signed a “Roadmap” for the development of strategic cooperation between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan in the field of transport and logistics for 2024-2025.
