Internal regulations of penitentiary institutions being amended
Those sentenced to imprisonment serving their sentences in colonies will have the right to apply for a pension through the public service centers of the Ministry of Justice.
The draft order of the Minister of Internal Affairs “On changes and additions to the internal regulations of penitentiary institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs” has been published.
The need for the project is related to the optimization of the procedures established in the penal system by harmonizing the internal departmental document with the current regulatory legal documents.
In addition to bringing the order of the Minister of Internal Affairs into compliance with current regulatory legal documents, the right of prisoners serving sentences in correctional institutions to participate in the electoral process is being clarified, and the processes for formalizing documents on marriage, family and civil status of prisoners serving sentences in correctional colonies are being improved. Convicts will have the right to apply for a pension through the public service centers of the Ministry of Justice.
Acceptance of the project does not require the allocation of additional funds from the state budget of Uzbekistan.
