Green Space project: Over one million unplanted saplings added to reports as planted
The Prosecutor General's Office has found that, under the nationwide Green Space project, there had been 541 cases where over one million saplings that were not actually planted were added to reports as planted. Also, in 441 cases, 580 thousand saplings were planted in areas without irrigation systems.

To ensure the implementation of the presidential decree dated December 30, 2021, "On measures to accelerate the greening of the republic and the organization of more effective tree protection," a resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers was adopted to protect and expand "green spaces" and establish "green gardens" and "green belts" during the spring season of 2024.
According to the resolution, the planting of 139 million trees and shrubs was ensured and inputted into the electronic platform during the spring season.
The execution of the Green Space nationwide project and the moratorium on tree felling were being monitored.
Identified cases:
- In 541 cases, reports added more than one million saplings that were not actually planted.
- In 441 cases, 580 thousand saplings were planted in areas without irrigation systems.
- In 35 cases, more than 19 thousand delivered saplings perished due to not being planted in time.
- 7,232 cases of illegal tree felling were identified, imposing an obligation to plant 100 saplings as compensation for each tree destroyed.
- The park of the Institute of Nuclear Physics (255 hectares), the "Darkhan" scientific experimental farm (29.6 hectares), and the territories of the "Bobotog" and "Zarafshan" state forest enterprises were fully monitored, and the planting of a total of 50 thousand saplings was ensured.
