Uzbekistan, Malaysia identify plans for cooperation in field of science, digital technology and innovation
The Ambassador of Uzbekistan Karomiddin Gadoyev met with the Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation of Malaysia, Chang Lee Kang.
The Malaysian side was presented with information on measures to accelerate the widespread implementation of technologies in all sectors of the economy of Uzbekistan, the development of science and innovation, conditions created for the consistent growth of the digital technology sector, as well as benefits and preferences provided to foreign technology companies.
The Malaysian side highly appreciated the attention paid to digital technologies and innovative development in the republic. It was noted that Uzbekistan is rapidly developing as a regional center of innovation and startups. In this regard, both sides are interested in intensifying cooperation and exchanging experience in this direction.
During the negotiations, an exchange of views took place on issues of digital technologies, commercialization of scientific developments, and implementation of joint startup projects.
Particular attention was paid to intensifying cooperation between technology companies, technology parks and research institutes of the two countries.
Following the meeting, agreements were reached on organizing mutual visits, exchanging experience and implementing new projects in such areas as ICT, artificial intelligence, biotechnology, space technology, water-saving technologies, energy efficiency, and cyber security.
