Earlier, Saudi Arabian officials reported that the total number of pilgrims died during the Hajj exceeded 1,300 people. Of these, 10 are citizens of Uzbekistan, UzNews.uz reported.
It is currently unknown why such a large number of people died during the Hajj.
Earlier, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), citing the country's health minister, reported that many of the dead walked under the scorching rays of the sun, covering impressive distances without shelter or any comfort.
Among the dead were many elderly people, as well as people suffering from chronic diseases.
It is noted that this year the pilgrimage took place from June 14 to 19. According to official data, about 1.8 million pilgrims took part in it, of which more than 1.6 million came from abroad.
During the pilgrimage days there was scorching heat. For example, on June 17, the air temperature in the Azam Mosque in Mecca reached 51.8 degrees Celsius.
Some hajj pilgrims were reported to be without official documents, preventing them from accessing air-conditioned facilities along the pilgrimage route.
Previously, it was reported that 15,130 pilgrims went to Saudi Arabia from Uzbekistan to perform the Hajj.
