Competition Committee declares TokBor dominant in EV charging services market
According to the committee, it holds over 40% of the market for electric vehicle charging services.
Chairman of the Competition Committee, Khalilillo Turakhodjaev, issued an order recognizing the company TokBor as dominant, Spot writes with reference to the committee.
According to the agency's data, TokBor occupies more than 40% of the market for charging services for electric and hybrid vehicles. Under the Law "On Competition," this is considered a criterion for a dominant position.
The Department for Monitoring Economic Concentration and State Participation in the Economy is tasked with sending a notification to TokBor within three days. The order was issued on August 5.
Enterprises with a dominant position are required to implement antitrust compliance procedures. They are prohibited from setting monopolistically high or low prices and from creating artificial shortages of goods.
Dominant companies are also not allowed to impose discriminatory conditions when purchasing goods, hinder competitors' entry into the market, or prohibit or restrict the sale of their products.
In the first half of the year, the Competition Committee recognized six companies as holding a dominant position. This status was assigned to Ferganaazot, Indorama Kokand Chemicals and Fertilizers, and structures of Uzbekistan Railways.
At the end of July, the Committee added the company Knauf Gips Buxoro to the list of dominant companies. The agency determined that the subsidiary of the German conglomerate Knauf occupies over 40% of the market for gypsum board products.
