Uzbekistan-Kazakhstan border demarcation agreement submitted to UN for registration
During the high-level segment of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, necessary documents for the registration and publication of the Agreement between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Kazakhstan on the demarcation of their state border were formally submitted to the UN Secretariat.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the agreement was signed by the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, on December 22, 2022, during Tokayev's state visit to Tashkent, and it entered into force on July 4, 2023. This document is the culmination of extensive collaborative efforts aimed at legally formalizing the Uzbek-Kazakh state border.
In a meeting on September 25, held on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly session, the foreign ministers of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan emphasized that the registration of the border demarcation agreement with the UN Secretariat represents a precedent for Central Asian countries regarding such documents.
The historical significance of the agreement was highlighted, reaffirming the commitment of both nations to the principles of good neighborliness, eternal friendship, and the spirit of allied relations. It reflects their readiness for mutually beneficial cooperation for common prosperity and contributes to the strengthening of security and stability in Central Asia.
