Tashkent-New York flight returns mid-air due to passenger health issue
An Uzbekistan Airways flight from Tashkent to New York was forced to return to Tashkent International Airport shortly after takeoff due to a passenger’s medical emergency.

Flight HY101 departed on schedule at 6:47 a.m. local time but was redirected back to Tashkent when the 57-year-old passenger, a Russian citizen, began feeling unwell during the flight. Following the captain’s request to return, the plane landed back in Tashkent at 7:35 a.m.
Upon arrival, the passenger was promptly transferred by ambulance to a medical facility for further treatment.
The airline has since rescheduled the flight, with a new departure time of 9:30 a.m. from Tashkent and an estimated arrival in New York at 12:30 p.m. local time.
