Uzbekistan and Saudi Arabia to collaborate on renewable energy expansion
On November 11, during the extraordinary Arab-Islamic summit in Riyadh, the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Energy, Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman Al Saud, to discuss strengthening partnerships in green energy.
The parties reviewed joint investment projects and discussed plans to expand cooperation in renewable energy.
President Mirziyoyev expressed appreciation for Uzbekistan’s productive relationship with ACWA Power, a Saudi company actively involved in Uzbekistan’s energy sector modernization through direct investments and advanced technologies.
The meeting emphasized accelerating wind and solar power plant projects in Uzbekistan, as well as advancing green hydrogen production initiatives. Saudi companies and consultants are also set to play a significant role in enhancing local energy efficiency and engaging in localization efforts within Uzbekistan.
