Tashkent International Airport expands arrival hall to boost capacity

Tashkent International Airport has commenced a new phase of its reconstruction project, focusing on expanding the arrival hall. The ongoing development aims to transform the facility into a unified airport complex capable of accommodating 2,400 passengers per hour, according to a statement by Uzbekistan Airports.

The arrival hall’s floor space will be expanded by 2,500 square meters, increasing from the current 5,300 square meters. This enlargement will include:

-  Installation of two additional baggage carousels
-  Creation of a spacious area within the terminal for receiving passengers

During the construction period, passenger exits on the left side of the hall will be temporarily closed. Arriving passengers will exit directly through the central area of the hall, with a covered walkway being installed to ensure safety. The waiting area for receiving passengers will remain operational as usual.

The current phase of construction is scheduled for completion by May 2025. Following this, the final stage of the reconstruction project will begin, which involves integrating the departure and arrival halls. This integration will pave the way for the creation of a state-of-the-art, high-capacity airport complex.
