Centrum Air launches Tashkent-Guangzhou flights, boosting bilateral tourism
Centrum Air has successfully launched its inaugural direct flight between Tashkent and Guangzhou. The first flight was warmly welcomed at Guangzhou’s Baiyun International Airport by airport officials, Centrum Air representatives, and members of the media.
During the ceremony, Chinese officials praised the growing partnership between Uzbekistan and China, highlighting how the new route will foster cultural and economic exchanges and boost tourism. Pan Jian, Deputy Director of Baiyun International Airport, emphasized that Uzbekistan is among the first Central Asian nations to offer visa-free access to Chinese citizens, a significant step in strengthening bilateral ties.
Chinese travelers expressed enthusiasm for the new direct connection, citing the ease of access to Uzbekistan’s rich cultural heritage and historic cities such as Samarkand, Bukhara, and Khiva.
The inaugural return flight to Tashkent carried representatives from over 20 Chinese travel companies and agencies. They are set to explore Uzbekistan’s tourism infrastructure and develop new travel packages for the upcoming season.
Initially, flights will operate once a week on Sundays throughout November. Starting in December, the frequency will increase to twice weekly, with services available on Sundays and Wednesdays.
