Uzbekistan’s weightlifting team secures third place at World Championship, Ruslan Nurudinov sets new record
The Uzbekistan national weightlifting team secured third place in the team standings at the World Weightlifting Championships, held in Manama, Bahrain. The event brought together nearly 500 athletes from 92 countries.
Uzbek athletes earned a total of six medals, including three gold, one silver, and two bronze. Their strong performance placed them among the top nations in the competition.
Gold medal winners:
- Ruslan Nurudinov: Men’s -109 kg (Clean & Jerk, World Record)
- Ruslan Nurudinov: Men’s -109 kg (Total Lift)
- Sharofiddin Amriddinov: Men’s -109 kg (Snatch)
Silver medalist:
- Muhammadkodir Toshtemirov: Men’s -81 kg (Snatch)
Bronze medalists:
- Muhammadkodir Toshtemirov: Men’s -81 kg (Total Lift)
- Sarvarbek Zafarjonov: Men’s -89 kg (Snatch)
It is noteworthy that Ruslan Nurudinov, competing in the -109 kg category, showcased extraordinary skill in the clean and jerk, lifting 242 kg to break his own world record set three years ago in Tashkent. His total lift of 424 kg secured him his third World Championship title in the combined total.
