Uzbekistan and Tajikistan formalize allied relations
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has signed the law ratifying the Treaty on Allied Relations between Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, officially formalizing their allied ties.

The decision to forge allied ties was first announced in April 2024 during Mirziyoyev's official visit to Dushanbe.
In his meeting with the President of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, the Uzbek leader stressed that the signing of this historic agreement represents a significant leap in bilateral relations, elevating them to a new level.
