Employment Ministry introduces Telegram bot to address job application overload

A Telegram bot has been launched to assist citizens who are unable to reach the Ministry of Employment’s short-number hotline regarding nearly 10,000 job vacancies. Officials noted that thousands of calls to the call center throughout the day led to disruptions. The technical issue is expected to be resolved soon.

Previously, Kun.uz reported on citizens’ complaints about the difficulty of reaching the provided short numbers for the New Tashkent construction job vacancies, as well as the official response to the situation.

In response, the Ministry of Employment and Poverty Reduction provided further clarification. According to the ministry, a surge of interest from Uzbek citizens eager to work in construction has overwhelmed the system, causing technical disruptions due to excessive call volume.

"We are receiving nearly 1,000 calls per day. When the number of simultaneous calls exceeds the system’s limit (50 calls at a time), disruptions occur. This issue will be resolved by March 4 at 12:00 PM," the ministry stated.

To address the issue, the ministry has introduced a Telegram bot as an alternative solution for those unable to get through or unwilling to wait in a call queue.

"From now on, individuals interested in working on the New Tashkent city project can submit their details via @yangi_toshkent_qurilishi_bot. Call center operators will then review the information and reach out to applicants during the day," the statement added.

For reference, the construction of New Tashkent is taking place on a 20,000-hectare site, and workers are urgently needed. Salaries for these positions range from 8 to 15 million UZS.
