According to the presidential press service, the discussions focused on further developing and deepening the strategic partnership and multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and the United States.
At the beginning of the meeting, Congresswoman Miller conveyed sincere greetings and best wishes to President Mirziyoyev on behalf of the U.S. President, the leadership of Congress, and members of the Congressional Caucus on Uzbekistan.
The sides expressed deep satisfaction with the high level of bilateral cooperation achieved. Political contacts and interagency exchanges continue actively, while trade turnover and investment volumes have multiplied in recent years, strengthening business cooperation.
Tashkent is home to Webster University and the American University of Technology, further enhancing educational ties.
Moreover, mutually beneficial collaboration is ongoing in key areas such as transport, customs, migration, culture, and other priority sectors.
Carol Miller commended Uzbekistan’s ongoing reform strategy under the "New Uzbekistan" initiative, highlighting progress in modernizing the economy, strengthening democratic institutions — particularly the parliament — and promoting gender equality.
Special attention was given to expanding interparliamentary cooperation to support and advance economic and investment projects, particularly in the mining, industrial, energy, and agricultural sectors.
The importance of fostering partnerships between Uzbekistan’s regions and U.S. states was also emphasized.
